This corner tells a story.

Watching a Corner of Somerville Begin Its Next Chapter

Cities change slowly at first. Then suddenly, one corner begins to transform.

At the intersection of Broadway and Cross Street in Somerville, that transformation has been unfolding piece by piece. With the recent closing of 4 Cross Street, we have now represented the sale of three major properties at this busy and visible corner. Over time, it has been a privilege to help guide these transitions and watch the area begin its next chapter through thoughtful redevelopment.

Corners like this are often where the story of a neighborhood begins to shift. They are natural gathering points, places where businesses grow, residents pass each other on their daily routines, and the character of a community quietly takes shape.

For decades, this corner served the neighborhood in one form. Today, it is being reimagined for the future.
Projects like these rarely happen overnight. Behind every sale is a careful balance between past and future. Property owners consider their next step. Developers and entrepreneurs envision new possibilities. And neighborhoods slowly evolve, one building at a time.

Helping guide that process is one of the most rewarding aspects of our work.
While many people know us for representing luxury homes throughout Cambridge, Somerville, and the surrounding communities, our clients rely on us for far more than that. Over the years, we have helped navigate transactions across a wide range of property types including commercial buildings, mixed-use properties, single-family homes, condominiums, and even vacant land.

Each property carries its own story and its own opportunity. Sometimes that opportunity lies in preserving a beloved home. Other times it involves helping a property transition toward a new purpose that better reflects the needs of the neighborhood today.

The Broadway and Cross Street corner is a perfect example of how those moments of transition shape a community. Watching the evolution of this intersection over time has been both fascinating and deeply rewarding.

Real estate is often thought of simply as transactions, but in truth it is something more enduring. It is about stewardship. It is about recognizing potential where others might see only an aging building or an underutilized parcel. And it is about bringing together the right people at the right time to allow a place to grow into its next life.

If you are considering a sale, curious about your property’s value, or simply exploring what might be possible for your property, we would be happy to talk. Our approach is thoughtful, strategic, and grounded in a deep understanding of the market and the long view of how neighborhoods evolve.
Sometimes the most interesting real estate stories begin at a single corner.
